GET INVOLVED
We are always looking for artists and teachers who wish to share their skills with others. Classes cover 2D and 3D media, and a wide variety of ages.
The following are the classes we offer:
Kindergarten-8th Grade
Art Exploration Pottery Sculpture
Pottery Wheel Drawing
Adults
Drawing Watercolor
Pottery Various Workshops
Weaving Acrylics
The Ankeny Art Center is a non-profit Art Gallery with rotating art exhibits and classrooms for drawing, painting, and ceramics. Interns will learn how to hang a show, how to run classes and the day-to-day operation of an Art Center.
Our Summer semester is June 1 - August 4.
SUMMER INTERNS:

The Ankeny Art Center values all our dedicated volunteers! Volunteering is a wonderful and fulfilling way for individuals and organizations to give to the arts and to the community. We have many different events and opportunities to volunteer at to help support a local non-profit!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR:
-
Gallery - hanging new shows
-help at receptions to greet people, food replenishment, or bar tending
- help with Spring Cleaning in May by spackling and sanding walls, taping off doors and outlets, and/or organizing art closets

Summer Camp - watch students in the gallery in between classes
- assist teachers with their classes

Santa’s North Pole Village - support staff, admissions support, bus donation attendee

Santa’s North Pole Village - looking for other non-profit groups to volunteer their time in return for donation to their cause
