Saturday, December 13th. 10am--3pm (one hour break for lunch)

* this is an intermediate class. Basic watercolor experience is required before taking this workshop. 

 

Paint a seasonal composition along with artist, Olesya Maupin. This class will focus on capturing the warm tones in a cool composition, letting your painting shine with color and warmth. 

 

 Students will be required to bring their own basic watercolor materials (i.e. palette, pigments, and brushes. Watercolor paper will be supplied by the AAC. Painting boards/supports can also be provided if needed.

 

Materials Needed:

 

Paints: 

  • Lemon Yellow Hue
  • Cadmium Yellow Hue
  • Alizarin Crimson Hue
  • Opera Pink (AAC can provide a small amount if you don't have this color)
  • Dioxazine Purple
  • Ultramarine
  • Cerulean Blue Hue
  • Sap Green
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Burnt Umber
  • Ivory Black
  • Chinese White
  • Or similar

 

Brushes:

  • 2/4 - 1" wash
  • #8 - #12 round
  • #0 - #2 detail
  • Variety of sables

 

Other Materials

  • Salt
  • rubbing alcohol
  • tea towel
  • water containers
  • paint palette with large mixing areas
  • Paper towels
  • Fineline masking fluid. The AAC has a few bottles if you need to borrow one.
